About Charles F. Haanel’s The Master Key System
“The inscription ‘Know Thyself,’ as written over the entrance of the Temple Delphi, 600 B.C., does not apply to the Greeks alone, but is a command to every man and every woman of every age. It is written over the door of each living temple, not as a decoration, but is the passport into the city beautiful. Every door that swings ajar from ignorance to wisdom, from lack to plenty, from death to life, has done so because the Master of the House has found the Master Key.”

In 1919, future author of probably the best-known personal development book Think & Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill, penned a letter to Charles F. Haanel about the influence The Master Key System had on him.
In the letter Hill wrote
“I believe in giving credit where it is due, therefore I believe I ought to inform you that my present success and the success which has followed my work as President of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely to the principles laid down in The Master-Key System.”
Haanel wrote other books and continued to publish The Master Key System until his death in 1949. While other companies continued to publish his work, Haanel and The Master Key System faded from much recognition until two events occurred.
In 2000, Kallisti Publishing began earnestly publishing The Master Key System and began shining the light on the almost-forgotten author. The book did incredibly well and was published in countries around the world, including Japan, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, and South Korea.
In 2006, a movie entitled The Secret was released. This film, hosted by a panel of personal development experts, told about the “Law of Attraction,” the concept that Haanel introduced in his book. The Secret was said to be based on two books: Wallace D. Wattle’s The Science of Getting Rich and Charles F. Haanel’s The Master Key System.
With his books now in the open, it is safe to say that Charles F. Haanel is here to stay.
